The trend is expected to expand in the upcoming years, since more and more people want to give their lives a creative sense. A new trend not to be missed in our art magazine.
Do-it-yourself - short DIY - has become a huge trend. No wonder: Tinkering one´s own decoration is much nicer than buying prefabricated things off the shelf. There is no concept that is not there. It starts with small handicrafts of paper, continues with hand-made fabrics, homemade lampshades up to well-grounded carpentry as a self-made cabinet or a bed.
Whether as a handmade gift or for yourself, DIY flourishes everywhere. You see this turning your head at the many craft shops that spring up in the cities or the province. Furthermore, there are the large marketplaces on the Internet where DIY artists sell their deco concepts. On etsy.com, eBay or dawanda.com one then can purchase the homemade pieces.
However, there are also disadvantages. Doing something oneself takes a lot of time and sometimes only works the third or fourth attempt. On the other hand side, a simple brilliant idea could be missing due to a lack of well-marked creativity. By contrast, there is a remedial action: On the Internet on countless blogs, in magazines and books interested people can find suggestions on any topic. Whether living ideas, textile ideas or architectural ideas - here everyone finds the right inspiration. Moreover, the trend is also picked up at international creative exhibitions. It is worth a visit!
